In May 2012, ViaWest signed a lease on an 110,000 square foot facility in Las Vegas that will house their new energy efficient data center. In addition to being their second such facility in the greater Las Vegas area, it also will house a state-of-the-art design that is LEED and Energy Star certified. ViaWest has stated that they expect it to open the
beginning of 2013.
Data Center Features:
70,000 square feet colocation space with 10+ Megawatts of power
World-class energy efficiency standards
High density and flexible configuration
24/7 expert support and staff on premise
Dave Leonard, ViaWest’s Senior VP of Data Center Operations, recently stated “
Our North Las Vegas data center will offer our clients Nevada’s most flexible and
environmentally responsible data center to house their core infrastructure along with
serving as a secure disaster recovery back-up site.” He continued on discussing how the
new facility will help meet the increased consumer demand for high-end, ultra secure,
data centers, while also providing a level of hands-on personalization that is currently
unparallel in similar settings.
The new Las Vegas facility now brings ViaWest’s total useable data center space to 23
full-service facilities, although most reside west of Texas.
