Data Center as a Service (DCaaS™)

IO trademarked the term “DCaaS™”, which stands for “Data Center as a Service”. IO’s data center services cover a wider range of IT requirements, including:

1. Colocation
2. Private Cloud Computing
3. Modular Data Center (IO ANYWHERE®)
4. Data Center Network
5. Remote Support

Colocation

IO’s colocation service offers a variety of solution ranging from 20U half cabinets to colocation suites and dedicated modules.

IO’s colocation facilities are carrier-neutral, with a BGP bandwidth solution that includes tier-1 providers AT&T, AboveNet, Level3, Qwest and TeliaSonera. Cooling availability is very flexible with solutions ranging from N to 2N availability. Power density isn’t listed, but each data center site shows plenty of available power.

In addition, IO offers free remote hands support, a 100% uptime service level agreement, free cross-connects, all located in their Tier III data centers.

IO’s data center facilities are located in New Jersey, Phoenix and Scottsdale.

Private Cloud Computing

IO offers a private cloud computing solution that comprises of a selection of virtual servers, virtual storage, virtual server hosts and virtual server clusters.

IO’s virtual server solution includes your own virtual machine that is high customizable, and comes with full network support, redundant infrastructure, 100% uptime SLA and a logical upgrade path.

IO’s virtual storage solution features low upfront costs, scalability, high availability, configuration flexibility and regulatory compliance.

IO’s virtual server hosts solution includes complete VM control, full network support, easy management console access, redundant infrastructure and a 100% uptime SLA.

IO’s virtual server clusters solution features massive scalability capabilities, high-availability, flexible / customizable, enhanced security (private hosts), and a 100% uptime SLA.

Modular Data Center

IO’s modular data center, termed “IO ANYWHERE®”, is a fully integrated, modular data center solution.

While similar looking to an Iso Container, the modular data center is a scalable modular platform. The benefits of the IO ANYWHERE® include a low 1.17 PUE and a quick setup/install time.

The Tough Questions

Was the development of the modular data center too big of a move for IO?

IO has 1,459,000 sq. ft. (831,000 in New Jersey, 538,000 in Phoenix, and 90,000 in Scottsdale) of data center space. How much of that is already committed or sold?

As of November 2011, IO Data Centers website still shows that IO abides by the SAS 70 internal controls. When will IO make the switch to SSAE 16?
