100TB on a GigE port – what’s the Catch?
Another thread on WebHostingTalk.com asks whether the 100TB of bandwidth usage has any catches or fine print. As user “mariushm” points out, many providers that offer unlimited bandwidth typically include some fine print that restrict the type of unlimited usage allowed. For instance, some unlimited usage bandwith offers are done through sharing a dedicated port between customers. This means that if one customer floods the port with bandwidth usage that the other customers will experience poor connectivity. 100TB.com does not throttle or restrict the usage of the bandwidth, and there is not fine print that limits the usage of the 100TB of bandwidth.
The Tough Questions
Is the 100TB of bandwidth usage a sustainable business model?
What happens when everyone offers 100TB of bandwidth usage – will 100TB re-brand itself?
